Tea Break Tip: Analogue equipment in a modern era

Producer Masterclass | Will Simms (The Pussycat Dolls, Black Eyed Peas... | Netflix: Inventing Anna, Ginny & Georgia, Love Island ..)

I’ve still got my Roland Juno 1 0 6 from the eighties. Yes. Great keyboard, which I absolutely love. Yeah. Great. So, I was just wondering, do you ever use kind of external keyboards, you know, for analogue sounds and things like that, If ever I’m in a place where they have them. Yes. And at, in my studio I’ve got, northly two, which is, you know, not as old, not as, but it’s, a really, really cool keyboard. It’s got some really good sounds and you, you do hear the difference, like seriously when you plug it in, it’s just a different thing.

It’s just like got a different texture and a different fatness to it and it’s just interesting. And what you can do as well, just on the keyboard itself with the nerves and the filters and everything, it’s really cool, so I try to use that now more. I’ve stopped using it for a while and, I’m starting to use it more and incorporate just little things. Just little sounds, even if it’s just a r just that I can create that on the thing and that that just gives something completely different.

and I love it. Yeah, definitely.
