Who is this course for?

Musicians with their own material

Fed up of open mic nights? Thought so. This course will show you how to go a step beyond the local pub and into the charts. We’ll show you what you need to do to make your songs irresistible to the labels and who you need to contact when you’re done.

Songwriters

If you want to become a professional songwriter for major label artists, we can show you how. We’ve already written hits that were performed by artists such as Beyonce, Jason Derulo, George Benson, Celine Dion, Kylie Minogue and many more.

Professional Songwriters

Already written a hit or two? We find that there’s still lots to learn from other musicians, even beginners, which is why we welcome other professional writers into the courses we host. Polish up your skills and find out how the industry is moving on.

Producers

Producers have one of the most important roles in the music industry. They need to know the information that’s important to a successful track. This course gives you the tools you need to catch the mistakes that can make or break a song, so you can boost a track to new heights.

Songwriting Hobbyists

Music shouldn’t always be used purely to make money and we understand that, sometimes, you just want to play music for the love of it. If you’re in it for the creative output alone, this course will help you get more from your songs.

Absolutely! The techniques we teach are professional, but delivered in a way that you will see immediate progress in your songwriting.
No! Whether you write lyrics, music, sing, produce or simply come up with amazing concepts, you are all songwriters.
Yes you really should. The smartest songwriters we know are always open to learning new skills and reminding themselves of skills they may have forgotten, even when they've been in the business for decades. If you think you know everything there is to know...we suggest doing another job!
Yes there will be breaks approximately every 90 mins - 2 hours. This can vary according to guest speakers but they need breaks just like you do!
No! All our bootcamp courses are LIVE.
Yes. As this is a live course, not a video playback, you'll need to be there to make the most of the training, ask questions as you go and interact with other students.
Yes, you'll have permanent access to the replay videos afterwards. Please allow up to 4 weeks for editing and posting.
We'll be setting writing assignments during the bootcamp, where you'll work together in Zoom breakout rooms in small groups?
Not at all. Just show up with an open mind, heart and a willingness to try new things. No other preparation is needed!
Yes you will be able to ask your questions direct to the mentors during the bootcamp We aim to help you as much as we can this week.
Nope. Although you are very welcome to post your songs in the Songwriting Bootcamp private Feedback Loop in our community for peer to peer feedback.
Check your emails! We'll be sending you instructions on how to join the course about one week before it starts, plus reminders just before day one.
Please check your spam and junk boxes. Once you find our email and tell your email system we are not junk you should receive everything after that. If there is nothing in spam or junk and you are worried, please email masterclass@thesongwritingacademy.co.uk
